"This past year, my husband and I decided that we wanted to have a goal
of having our house paid off in 5 years. In order to see where we could make
cutbacks in our spending, I began a manual accounting of where our money went.
This was time consuming and tedious. After inputting all of our financial information
using other budgeting programs, I was having difficulty getting these programs
to do what I wanted. I expressed my frustration to my husband. He told me about

"I love Personal Mvelopes because it actually sets aside money for upcoming
periodic expenses. All the other "budgeting" programs we tried were
only good for tracking what we had already spent - not telling us how much was
